video submission guidelines

The "Respect the Send" Filming Checklist

The "Respect the Send" Filming Checklist

Use this guide to ensure your entry meets all criteria for our judging panel.

Pillar 1: The Safety Foundation (The "Respect")

Mandatory: If these are missing, the video will not be scored.

  • Safety Gear: Is the rider wearing a helmet, beacon, and pack in every single shot?
  • The "Protocol" Clip: Did you film the age-appropriate safety check?
    • Starters: Mechanical check (skis, track, fuel).
    • Sharpeners: Partner beacon check (Transmit/Receive).
    • Masters: Map/App terrain planning and shovel/snowpack test.
  • Safe Environment: Is the terrain appropriate for the bracket? (No high-consequence exposure for Starters/Sharpeners).

Pillar 2: Technical Mastery (The "Send" & "Line")

  • The Technical Line: Did you capture a continuous shot of the rider navigating a feature or technical side-hill?
  • Machine Control: Can the judges see the rider's footwork and hand positioning? (Avoid filming from too far away).
  • Variety of Angles: Did you get a mix of "Follow-cam" (behind the rider), "POV" (GoPro, Insta360), and "Static" (tripod/stationary) shots?

Pillar 3: The Story (The "Lineage")

  • The Interview: Did you film the 15–30 second "Talk to Camera" segment?
  • The Mentor: Did the rider mention who taught them to ride or what "Respecting the Send" means to them?
  • The "Vibe": Does the video show the personality of the rider, including the "stucks" or the preparation.

Technical Settings (For the Camera Op)

  • Orientation: Is the camera held horizontally (Landscape)? Vertical is only for social media bonus points.
  • Resolution: Are you filming in at least 1080p? (4K is preferred for the Cinematic Award).
  • Audio Check: Can you hear the engine? If using music, ensure it doesn't drown out the throttle sound.
  • No Reckless Footage: Ensure there is no footage of jumping over roads, open water, or other people.

The Final Step: The Admin Check

  • Waiver: Have you signed the Digital Waiver on DeepLineThrottle.com?
  • File Name: Save your video file as: AgeBracket_RiderName_City.mp4
  • Deadline: Is it before March 15th, 2026?

video length, format & upload

  • Duration: 60 seconds to 3 minutes.
  • Orientation: Horizontal (16:9) is required for full cinematic scoring.
    • In addition, you may also submit a vertical (9:16) "Social Cut" for bonus points and potential features on our Instagram/TikTok.
  • Quality: 1080p HD minimum. Please ensure your audio is balanced—we need to hear your throttle discipline over any music.
  • Video Upload: Upload your video here.

Cinematic Storytelling: "The Narrative of the Line"

We don’t just want to see the finish; we want to see the plan. A winning video follows a narrative arc:

  • The Prep: Show the preparation, the gear check, and the "Lineage" (who you are riding with).
  • The Action: High-quality footage of your technical riding. Use a mix of rider POV and third-person "follow-cam" to show the scale of the terrain.
  • The Reflection: A short "talk-to-camera" explaining your terrain choice and what "Respecting the Send" means to you.

Mandatory Waiver & Eligibility

  • NO WAIVER, NO ENTRY: You must complete the Release of Liability and Waiver Agreement before submitting. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian signature is required.
  • Safety Gear: Any footage showing a rider without a helmet, beacon, or appropriate safety gear is an automatic disqualification.
